Tiramisu for You

Over the winter season, I found a wonderful and simple Tiramisu recipe. I have made it on two occasions and everyone has seemed to like it (especially when I added the rum in) so I have decided to share it with you!
Three Layer Tiramisu
Two Layer Tiramisu
Cook Time: 5 minutes
Prep Time: 2 hours (including refrigeration)
Total Time: 12 hours (including refrigeration)

Ingredients
3 egg yolks
1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup milk
1 pound mascarpone cheese, room temperature (coffee mascarpone cheese preferred)
Lady fingers
1 cup brewed coffee, room temperature
1/4 cup rum (optional)
Cocoa Powder
Chocolate shavings

Instructions
1. Over medium heat, whisk the egg yolks, sugar, and milk in a medium saucepan continuously until it reaches boiling point. Then turn off the heat and continue mixing for another minute. Let this cool off for 30 minutes and then refrigerate for 1 hour.

2. After this mixture is cool, whisk in the mascarpone cheese.

3. Line a 9x5 loaf pan with plastic wrap*
4. Quickly dip however many lady fingers will fit on the first layer of the pan in the coffee (and rum if included) one at time and place them at the bottom at the pan**
5. Spread a fourth of the mascarpone filling over the lady fingers.
6. Place a second layer of coffee dipped lady fingers and spread the another fourth of mascarpone filling over them.

7. Repeat with third layer. You should have a fourth of the mascarpone filling left.

8. Cover the loaf pan with plastic wrap and refrigerate along with the leftover mascarpone filling over night.
9. When serving, flip the tiramisu upside down onto a serving plate and gently remove it from the pan. Spread the rest of the mascarpone onto the tiramisu.
10. Sprinkle cocoa powder and grated chocolate on top and enjoy!

*This can also be done in a 8x8 pan, if you prefer more lady fingers and less mascarpone cheese. It will yield only 2 layers of lady fingers instead of 3 layers.
**At this step, mix both the coffee and the rum together before dipping the lady fingers
